CROATIA - FIRST STOP SPLIT

Fantastic start on the vacation with a lot of lazy days in the sun.

Entrence to the Diocletian's Palace(380 AD) was through an old basement hall. There were stalls with arts and crafts made by local artist for sale here as well.

Beautiful influence of antique roman period, loved the architecture

Koselig!
I have been to Croatia in my summer vacation and I loved it. Beautiful old arcitecture, kind people, great food, and fantastic beaches with the clearest water in Europe to swim in. First stop was the city Split. We stayed in a hotel five minutes drive away from the city centre. This way we could enjoy both the city and the beach. Walking in the streets of Split really reminded me of Venice in Italy. Narrow streets, old gothic/roman arciteture and a lot of cosy street restaurants. One place to see in Split is the Diocletian's Palace. Not a palace in the sense of Versailles, but more a city within a city. Lovely!
